Homemade Arm Restraints

Here is a type of homemade arm restraint that may be easier to keep on your baby.

The strap around the back helps to keep them on, and since they are made of fabric, they are soft and possibly less irritating than the hospital-issued Snuggle Wraps. You can see the pattern for these restraints here if you'd like to try to make them yourself.

  1. Thanks so much for putting these up on the blog...I'll have my sister and mom take a look and see how easy they'd be to make.

  2. What would you do for a 3 or 4 month old baby? How much smaller would they need to be?

  3. Hmm, not sure on that one. Maybe you could take the sleeve length of a 3-6 month size long-sleeved shirt and then reduce the pattern proportionally.

  4. Thanks so much for the pattern and instructions.. I was really at a loss as to what the internal restraint/ structure should be. But I am a little confused.. looking at the patten and looking at the pictures above, these are not the same, unless you cut them into two parts later.

I'm actually more interested in trying to recreate the snuggle wrap style with the openings, since I live in hot hot Las Vegas. But this will be soo helpful even in making those. Thanks again.
