ReplyDeleteMeg....my grandson has soft cleft palate and will probably have surgery in February at age 9 months old. any suggestions as how to help hm be more comfortable during his recovery the weeks after his surgery will be appreciated.

ReplyDeleteThe good news I can tell you is that the soft palate repair was the easiest for Ethan. Things that helped were making sure he had things that he liked and that would distract him; lovie blanket, a new and interesting toy, soft foods that he likes (ice cream, pudding, apple sauce, etc.). And we always had the best luck alternating tylenol and ibuprofen every three hours to keep pain in check. Good luck!
